The Finca
El Olivo de Cazorla is a “Finca” or farm located in the countryside of Andalusia, Spain. We are about 10 kilometers from the town of Cazorla in the provice of Jaén. The Finca consists of 50 Hectares (123 Acres) of pine woods, olive groves, fields, paddocks and riding areas. With several streams watering the property, it is an ideal place to keep Andalusian horses.
A map with the location of the Finca is at the bottom of the page.
.
The Finca is owned by the Ortiz Valero brothers who have strong roots in the town of Cazorla, stretching back over 500 years. The oldest reference is the presence of a Knight with the last name of Ortiz on the muster roles of Cazorla from 1487!
Despite having lived abroad (In the USA, Germany, Puerto Rico etc), the brothers have always been attached to the town of Cazorla. The Finca was purchased in 2000 both as a stronger link to Cazorla and, more importantly, as a place to indulge in our passion of raising and riding Andalusian Horses.
